Wesley Launch Debut Album ‘The Charming Smile and The Glorious Life’ with an Exclusive Release Party
London, UK – Rising alternative rock band Wesley, a four-piece outfit with roots in South West England, are excited to announce the launch of their highly-anticipated independent debut album, ‘The Charming Smile and The Glorious Life’. The eight-track LP will be celebrated with an exclusive release party at Shoreditch’s iconic Old Blue Last on Saturday, 8th February 2025.
Wesley draws from various influences including Joni Mitchell, Fontaines D.C., and The Kinks with a sound that feels simultaneously unique and familiar. Combining humor, introspection, and sharp political commentary, their music has also drawn comparisons to XTC and The Smiths. With a reputation for high-energy live shows, the band has already made their mark on London's vibrant live music scene, and they're poised to break new ground with their debut release.
‘The Charming Smile and The Glorious Life’ reflects the duality of Wesley’s artistry, which is equally playful and profound. The album’s lead single, ‘On Sunny Beaches’, already making waves online, evokes the band’s formative experiences growing up in Southwest England. The song is a celebration of nostalgia and identity, reflected in the beautiful coastal setting of the accompanying music video. The third and final single, ‘Closing Time’, releases on 31st January as the excitement builds leading up to the album’s launch.
Joining Wesley at the launch party will be singer-songwriter Constance Sojourner, as well eclectic group Compost Compost Compost. DJs LÈÓN, LPLATE, NENCINI & LEMON, and DINNER PARTY will keep the energy alive until 3 AM.
