“One of Britain’s most intriguing young bands” NME
Leeds alt-rock specialists L’objectif announce their signing to Dance To The Radio (Ellur, Far Caspian, Terra Twin) and share brand new single ‘Goth Kids’, out today (January 24th).
Marking their first slice of material since acclaimed 2024 EP ‘The Left Side’, the frenetic quartet’s latest effort showcases their trailblazing energy and sublime anthemic sensibilities to perfection, and sees them team with the revered indie label as they ready themselves for the next phase in their thrilling development.
With praise circulating throughout all corners of the press landscape (The Observer, The Sunday Times, NME, DIY, Dork, The Line Of Best Fit + more), as well as a previous BBC 6 Music playlist spot and key radio champions in the form of Steve Lamacq, Amy Lamé, Iggy Pop, Jack Saunders (BBC Radio 1) and Matt Wilkinson (Apple Music), it’s fair to say L’objectif have experienced a monumental rise over the last few years, with a UK headline tour in the pipeline and work on their debut album set to begin imminently.
Speaking ahead of their single release, the band stated: “‘Goth Kids’ is the longest amount of time we’ve spent on a song - we’ve been working on it for over a year. It’s been a difficult process to get right but we believed it the whole way through. Lyrically it’s a song that almost wrote itself, I don’t want to overthink the music anymore, it just felt natural, although if it is about anything I suppose it’s about figuring out how you fit into the world. It’s a pretty important song to us and has brought us through into a new chapter for the band.”
L’objectif’s ‘Goth Kids’ is out now via Dance To The Radio and available on all digital platforms.
L’objectif is Saul Kane (frontman), Louis Bullock (drums), Sam Hudson (bass), Abe Hussain (guitar)
