The Neon Sea, the brainchild of Dublin-based songwriter Tom Doyle, is back with their latest single “Sleepwalker” — a genre-blending track that fuses Alternative Rock, Post-Punk, and Shoegaze. Following the success of their debut single “As I Wonder,” the band’s newest release is a darker, harder-hitting offering that explores introspective themes within a more immediate and raw soundscape.

Produced by multi-instrumentalist and producer Dave Flood in Dublin and mastered by Christian Wright (Arcade Fire, Blur, LCD Soundsystem, Johnny Greenwood) at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, “Sleepwalker” delivers a hypnotic loop-driven sound with a sharp edge and minimal frills. Speaking about the track, Doyle noted, “I wanted the song to sound like a hypnotic loop with a dark edge — something shorter and harder than our first single.”

Formed in Dublin, The Neon Sea blends elements of Post-Punk, Shoegaze, and Alternative Rock, drawing inspiration from iconic acts such as The Cure, My Bloody Valentine, Nirvana, The Stone Roses, Soundgarden, and Ride. Their debut single, “As I Wonder” — a contemplative track reflecting on time and existence — received positive reviews and international airplay across independent radio stations. The track was produced by Dave Flood and mastered by Alex Wharton (Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine) at Abbey Road Studios.

While The Neon Sea is currently a studio project, Doyle envisions expanding the band’s lineup to bring their music to the live stage in the near future. Adding a unique visual element to their artistic identity, much of the band's abstract artwork is created by Doyle’s six-year-old son.

“Sleepwalker (Open Studio Version)” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
