SINGLE REVIEW: Hyrels - Control
Emerging from Alicante’s underground scene, Hyrels have bottled up pure energy and thrown it straight into ‘Control.’ It’s got the urgency of punk, the rhythm of classic rock ‘n’ roll, and an unfiltered intensity that makes it impossible to not to love. From the first few seconds, it launches forward with a driving beat and never dampens up. It’s relentless in the best way possible, teetering between chaos and precision, with every instrument pushing the track forward like it’s running on instinct alone.
The vocals are sharp and commanding, dripping with a rawness that makes every word feel like it matters. There’s a real unpolished grit to them, but it never feels forced—it’s just natural, the kind of voice that thrives in a packed-out room, surrounded by tartant clad punks moshing thier hearts out. Then there are the gang vocals, which give the track a proper camaraderie feel. It feels like a call to arms, a song that doesn’t just hit you in the face but drags you in and makes you part of it.
Instrumentally, ‘Control’ balances between reckless abandon and tightly wound precision. The drums thunder with a relentless drive, the guitars snap with a playful edge, and the bassline locks everything together without losing its own groove. Even the solo feels perfectly placed—not showy, just enough to add another layer of swagger. It’s loud, bold, and completely unapologetic. ‘Control’ doesn’t just demand attention; it thrives on it.
