SINGLE REVIEW: Archangel - In The Colour Of The Apocalypse
Michael Kordek is the visionary behind Archangel, a solo project inspired by personal life experience, strength and determination ideology. For serious fans of heavy metal, Black Metal, and those that have an interest for a deep dive of religion and divine concepts.
In The Colour Of The Apocalypse may have been composed from a simple home computer but the end product of this track is a million miles, with top notch sound quality bringing brutality to your ears that is worthy of being listed next to bands such as Behemoth & Kataklysm.
The track thunders in from the start, with fresh brutal percussion, suspenseful synth vocals, and impressive ferocity in the growling vocals. Guitars provide solid ground for abominable thrashes. Lead guitar solos really paint a picture for the apocalypse with soaring tension. The progression is subtle but quite intriguing.
The track entered existence from multiple forms of concepts from the bible and the meanings behind the Roman interpretations of “The beast”. The important takeaway from the track is the strength that it gives those that do not belong to a religious institution. That sin does not mean an individual is evil, but human.
A very Cinematic track indeed. I can see this in a live setting with quite a lot of flames and brutal mosh pits, that I personally would steer clear of. The tenacity is greater than what some could handle. Quite out of this world.
