JulianGK Releases New Single ‘Game of Blood’

Growing up in tropical Costa Rica, JulianGK developed a deep passion for music alongside his love for skateboarding and surfing. At 18, he moved to LA to chase his dreams in the music industry, playing guitar for pro BMXer Rick Thorne’s Good Guys in Black and New Born Authority, as well as bass for Troy Brauenstein. In 2016, he relocated to London, where he found success as the frontman of The Road Atlas—until an ear injury in 2020 forced him to take a three-year break.

Now back in full force, JulianGK has just released his latest single, Game of Blood, an ecstatic and irresistibly catchy love song that captures the high-energy chaos of a toxic relationship. Its vivid verses stir up core memories of past loves, while the infectious chorus lingers in your head for days. And when the breakdown hits? You’ll want to jump, run, or both.

So, why drop a toxic love song on Valentine’s Day?
“If you’re lucky enough to be in a positive relationship, this song is a reminder to count your blessings and reflect on all the crappy loves that led you to the good one. If you’re single, finally—a Valentine’s Day song that makes you feel better about it! And if you’re in a toxic relationship? I hope this song helps you open your eyes and take the leap to something better.” – Julian

JulianGK made his official return in August 2024 with his debut EP, Heart on Sleeve. After his ear injury forced him to step away from music, this EP became his way of saying: Alright, here we go again!

"Here I am
Ready to leap
Willing to bleed
To go back to wearing my heart on my sleeve"

(Heart on Sleeve – JulianGK)

The EP kicks off with Trouble in Paradise, a punk-infused anthem about taking charge of your own life. The title track follows before leading into Time Zone Heartbreak, JulianGK’s biggest hit yet—a track about the challenges of long-distance love and stepping outside your comfort zone. Petrified then brings a powerful groove, tackling the unsettling yet enlightening nature of self-awareness. Finally, Cmon Cmon wraps things up with an exhilarating call to embrace who you are:

"Cmon cmon, let’s get this feeling
Like we are meant to be this way
Cmon cmon, let’s get this feeling
Like we own the world today."

Catch JulianGK live at his next headline show on Thursday, 6th March 2025, at Strongroom, Shoreditch, London.
