Alma Owren releases new single ‘Outcast’

On the edge of a forest in Vingrom, a small village just outside Lillehammer, Norway, 19 year  old Alma Owren grew up surrounded by stories. Living on a farm nestled between the woods  and a lake, Alma discovered music early in life. First through the violin, which she began  playing at just four years old, and later through songwriting. For Alma, music quickly became  more than melodies; it was a language, a journal, and a way to make sense of herself and the  world.

Now, she’s stepping into the spotlight with her debut single, "Outcast," releasing January 17,  2025.

From the Forest to the Studio:

As a teenager, Alma began producing her own songs, starting with simple recordings and  gradually immersing herself in the process through countless hours in the studio. The studio  became her second home—a place where she could shape every aspect of her music herself.  For Alma, production is not just a technical step; it’s an extension of the creative journey and  an essential part of her storytelling.

Every decision she makes, from crafting lyrics to layering melodies and arranging  instrumentation, is a way to express the heart of the song. By producing her own music, Alma

ensures her sound remains authentic and deeply personal, blending words, melodies, and  soundscapes into a cohesive whole.

The result is music that feels raw, honest, and emotionally resonant—an unfiltered reflection  of the inner worlds she loves to explore.

"Outcast" – A Song for the Outsiders

Alma’s debut single, "Outcast," is a heartfelt and cinematic indie track, shaped by her own  violins, guitars, and vocals. It tells the story of feeling like you don’t quite belong—and the  journey to discovering your own identity. For Alma, this is a deeply personal story, but also  one she believes many will resonate with.

With its unique soundscape, Alma hopes to reach young, thoughtful souls who crave  something genuine. The track combines the melancholic storytelling of Phoebe Bridgers, the  intimate production of Billie Eilish, and the vulnerability of Clairo—while staying true to  Alma’s Nordic roots.

A Glimpse of What’s to Come:

"Outcast" is the first single from Alma’s debut EP, set to release in winter 2025. With this EP,  Alma invites listeners into her musical universe—a place where emotions don’t always make  sense, but are always real.
