VANARIN: third single "I Don't Know" out now via Dischi Sotterranei, off Anglo-Italian band's new album
Out today, August 21st, via Dischi Sotterranei, I Don't Know is the third single taken from the upcoming album by Anglo-Italian band VANARIN, promising to be one of the most pleasant and qualitatively interesting surprises of the new year.
Preceded by the explosive singles A Fly On The Wall and Hey Listen, it is a sparkling song to accompany the end of summer. Always present is the group's unfailingly catchy trademark, married here with an original and complex format, ranging across the most diverse musical influences – from soul to r'n'b, from psychedelia to funk – to create a crossover with an irresistible retro-futurist aura. The attitude of names as Tame Impala and Junior Boys is embraced and subjected to the taste of experimentation, all supported by skillful technical work, under the sign of an irrepressible groove.
Whether one feels like partying or chilling, the track is an ode to the moments when time stands still and the mind goes blank, immersing in the pleasures that helps to cope with life, in a dimension of necessary detachment from the everyday: «Wake up in a desert room, solo in a state of bloom, don't know what I'm doing».
BIOGRAPHY
VANARIN is an Anglo-Italian psych-pop band that was formed in July, 2016, by David Paysden, Marco Sciacqua, Massimo Mantovani and Marco Brena. Their style of music is best described as a combination of psych-pop and rock. The band has currently two EPs and two full-length albums under their belt, playing more than 150 gigs participating in big festivals like MI AMI Festival, Siren Festival and Radio Onda D’urto in Europe and Zandari Festa and LUCFest in Asia opening for various international acts such as Battles, Thurston Moore, Public Image Ltd, Yellow Straps, The Rodeo, Silica Gel and HYBS.
The band has two EPs and two successful albums to its credit so far, Overnight (2018, Woodworm) and Treading Water (2022, Dischi Sotterranei).
On June 26th, 2024, they return with a new single, A Fly On The Wall, followed on July 24th by a second track, Hey Listen. The third single I Don’t Know is out on August 21st. These are the first excerpts from the band's highly anticipated third album, out soon via Dischi Sotterranei.
