UK newcomer jrowsy set to release debut album 'sleepjrow'

Alt-pop/rock soloist James Smith explodes onto the scene in style.

Peterborough’s James Smith, aka jrowsy, says that he is “beyond sleepy”, and it’s no surprise when you listen to this statement debut record and consider the hours of dedication and late nights spent crafting his catchy blend of honest, alternative pop-rock. A creative process, two years in the making, culminates on April 19th with the release of sleepjrow - 11 tracks of infectious and heartfelt melodies for you to soundtrack your summer 2024; a year which he intends to make his own and finish by being a name on everyone's lips.

We’re casting the spotlight on a previously unreleased track ‘two faces’ - quintessentially and unmistakably jrowsy, this song delves into how his ex attempted to make him feel guilty through the use of crocodile-tears and gaslighting to manipulate, before he ultimately realised and escaped their toxic behaviour and moved on.

As evidenced in earlier videos for singles: ‘your plan’, ‘i’m sick’ and ‘the weather’ - jrowsy is known for his eclectic mix of characters including ‘Ghillie’ (pictured above), Bigfoot, Alien & Young Jrow.

On the album artwork (below), jrowsy shared: “It was during the writing of this album that I became a ‘thumbs up’ kind of guy, using the gesture more, and more. The other hand is holding a cheese and onion sandwich, which represents my ongoing love for meal deals and cheese and onion in particular, which I ate a lot during this time… and continue to do so.

With the follow-up album already deep in production, this is your last chance to get on board with jrowsy and say “I was there from the beginning”.
