German rock band THE DEADNOTES are delighted to announce that their new album Rock ‘n’ Roll Saviour will be released on February 21st 2025 via Grand Hotel van Cleef, and can be pre-ordered now.

The band have also announced their first batch of album tour dates, with the first leg of the tour taking place in Germany starting in March 2025 as a four-piece with Felix Overhoff on drums and Paul Hofer-Bottomley on piano, saxophone and percussion duties.

Shows in the UK will be announced in due course. THE DEADNOTES have played more than 600 stages all across Europe, so fans can rest assured that this is just the beginning of their live schedule revealed for the record.

In recent years the term “rock ‘n’ roll” has become a kind of punchline; a musical synonym for outdated gender roles, for being out of touch, for having a macho mindset. So obviously, as with so many things in the modern age, it's high time for a complete overhaul—as such THE DEADNOTES have fittingly titled their third album, giving the well-known catchphrase of “Sex, Drugs and Rock’n’Roll” a contemporary and long overdue update.

The destructive power of rock ‘n’ roll is well-documented and THE DEADNOTES know it all too well, but band members Darius Lohmüller and Jakob Walheim prefer to emphasize the unfathomable, yet always tangible, power of music.

Despite all the clichés, there is also a fundamental truth about rock music: the songs that blare too loudly, the nights that become way too long, the lyrics that hit too true at just the right moment…all of it can save you, no matter what. Those who have felt it know it to be true. THE DEADNOTES have written songs that want to do just that—be your saviour.

New single ‘Jesus Christ! (I'm Sick And Tired Of Falling In Love)’ is out now, following the album intro ‘December 31st’—already released as an exclusive video to fans—which kicks open the doors to Rock ‘n’ Roll Saviour. It’s a record that may not be a concept album in the conventional sense, but nevertheless tells a story in ten snapshots that is ultimately about the music in all things. Songs about not wanting to compromise on anything, ever.

Opening with a guitar riff that might just be the theme to the whole record, a drum sound that lovingly recreates the feel of a recording from the 80s, and a saxophone that goes all out, the band plays with relentless passion on ‘Jesus Christ!’. It’s a song that showcases like no other how much freedom THE DEADNOTES have carved out for themselves in these last few years.

“This song was the first one we wrote for the new album,” singer and guitarist Darius recalls. “I was buried in this hole and desperately looking for just some kind of high to get me out of it at the time. Fortunately, I got into a therapy program at the end of 2022 and found some solid ground. We wrote this song, and only then did I discover artists like Huey Lewis and Tom Petty—suddenly, a whole new world opened up for me.”

On Rock ‘n’ Roll Saviour, THE DEADNOTES confront the hardship of everyday life with a romanticism that never becomes naïve but is ever aware that sometimes things must get worse before they can get better. But they do get better.
