Suffolk-based songstress Megan Payne share new single ‘Disconnected Frequencies’
Megan Payne is an eclectic multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter from Suffolk. She plays a variety of instruments over a wide range of styles and genres. ‘Disconnected Frequencies’ is the second single from her collaborative debut album, Kicking My Shoes Off. ‘Kicking My Shoes Off’ is the name she has chosen to call the album and it has been planned since last year.
This song has a softer haunting side and a harder different side. On this song the music represents what the song is trying to get across, the vast differences between one part and another. This is one of the more diverse songs on the album. It features on my debut collaborative album ‘Kicking My Shoes Off’. ‘Disconnected Frequencies’ describes being different and feeling out of place. This song is one that everyone can identify with in one way or another. The song was recorded over 2 days and features music and lyrics by Megan Payne and vocals provided by Lizzy Kettle.
Hopefully this song can instil a picture of difference, and give people something to relate to when they feel like a ‘disconnected frequency’, in the sense that everyone has something that makes them different and feel out of place sometimes and this song is about embracing those differences and living with them.
