Austin, TX - April 29, 2024 - STARVING WOLVES is excited to announce the release of their fourth and final single, "Nothing More," from their upcoming album, "The Fire, The Wolf, The Fang." This new album will be available this Friday in stores worldwide.

The single's artwork, crafted by Kayla Nakai (@color_andillusions), features a beautifully chaotic design that nods to the aesthetic of vintage exploitation movie posters. Nakai's art masterfully captures the viewer’s imagination, leaving them questioning and intrigued.

David Rodriguez, the band's vocalist, describes the entire album as an emotional rollercoaster, akin to an intense, traumatic thriller movie reminiscent of films by Robert Rodriguez, such as El Mariachi, From Dusk Till Dawn, and Planet Terror. "I wanted 'Nothing More' to draw listeners in, offering a sense of comfort before suddenly tightening its grip, leaving them breathless," he explains. The music complements the art by shaking things up, delivering unexpected twists, and intensifying the experience, while the lyrics drive the impact deeper, like a soothing spike right into the mind.

The lyrics cut directly to the core of the art:

"Raised in Fear, Bathed in Blood

Crucified, we are Reborn

Nothing is Nothing more"

In addition to “Nothing More” being available on all platforms, fans can get their hands on a FREE “Ossuaries” picture flexi. The band enlisted the services of the incredibly talented Marie Recalde to put together the artwork for the flexi.

"The Fire, The Wolf, The Fang” is a raw, relentless punk rock record that confronts widespread social issues like police brutality (“Burn the Stations”), support for those struggling with their mental health or facing suicidal ideation (“Please Listen”), and personal issues of cultural identity (“Mixed Blood”). In the latter, Rodriguez draws upon his Mexican-American heritage, singing in both English and Spanish to articulate his experience to speakers of both languages, connecting racism faced by young people to the brutal history of colonialism in the Americas.

In releasing songs from the record, Starving Wolves have literally put their money where their mouths are, donating to efforts to support mental health for indigenous youth by building skate parks on reservation land, and providing a positive athletic and creative outlet for kids in vulnerable populations.

Forceful & dark, yet with an undying spirit of resilience, the journey of “The Fire, The Wolf, The Fang” is ultimately a cathartic experience, and a scream of survival and hope for those left behind in a world that can feel bleak.

Artist Spotlight: Kayla Nakai

"Yá'át'ééh, I'm Kayla Nakai. I'm a Diné freelance artist from Salt Lake City. Born in Shiprock, NM, I grew up between the reservation and northern Utah. I am Bitter Water, born for the Water's Edge People; a descendant of the Salt Water and Coyote Pass clans. Most of my life has been devoted to creation, whether as a baker or an art and music enthusiast. Painting is my refuge, a way to decompress from life's stresses and reset myself. I strive to live positively despite any hurdles and hope to inspire others to embrace their creative potential."
