SINGLE REVIEW: TUBE AMP'D - Voice Like An Angel (Live)

TUBE AMP'D is back with another original, and once again, they don’t disappoint. 'Voice Like An Angel' is a love song about a kind, gentle girl who deeply impacts the narrator’s life, with her beautiful voice and music. It paints a picture of trust, affection, emotional connection, and unbridled passion. The lyrics are sincere, but I must be brutally honest here: I’m not too keen on how the song steers into the more obvious themes of sex. I don’t mind subtle hints or more nuanced suggestions, but when it becomes too upfront, as it does in the chorus here, I find it a bit harder to get fully into the track.

Musically, TUBE AMP'D delivers their signature raw energy with heavy drumming, screaming guitars, and a strong punk-rock edge. The track has that DIY feel, with gritty, unpolished textures that give it a real sense of urgency. The drums drive the track forward, while the guitars provide a chaotic but structured wall of sound.

The vocals stand out with raw intensity, and while the song leans more on melodic punk delivery, the gang vocals add a brash, punk energy to the chorus. It’s dynamic, energetic, and packs a punch, all while staying true to the band’s raw, impassioned style.

So far, all the tracks I’ve heard from TUBE AMP'D have been live recordings, and I love the energy they capture in that setting. But I’m curious to hear how they might translate that rawness into a studio version—would they lean into more polished production or keep it gritty and DIY?
