SINGLE REVIEW: Sharper Side - Four Thousand Club

The new single 'Four Thousand Club' from North London pop-punkers Sharper Side is a shape-shifting modern banger!

Drawing reference to men who are blackmailed into sleeping with women for money, it's an interesting lyrical concept. The idea that sex can be so easily bought and sold in modern society. It can be used as a damaging commodity because people will do anything for money. It details how readily corruption can evolve, which I found particularly impactful in the line "she ain't nice, but neither are you," the thought of playing the victim when blame can be equally apportioned.

Drawing likenesses to "Warning" era Green Day it's a melodic serving of 2000s-inspired pop-punk that blends other genres to give a unique, eclectic sound. A somewhat proggy bassline drones throughout while the chorus shines with jangly indie energy and surfy vibes. There are punk tendencies with the shout-along injection of a few well-placed Oi's!

Catchy upbeat hooks, groove-inspired protesting vocals with steadfast splendor. Epic group vocals bring the track together. Addictive and rhythmic, it's a tune that will surely get the party started and awaken the pits!

Shaper Side are a distinctive talent. They take the music they love and inject their personalities to deliver an impressive sound unafraid to challenge genre boundaries.
