SINGLE REVIEW: Say Less - Not Feeling This

Say Less make a triumphant return with 'Not Feeling This', an adrenaline-fuelled blast of high-energy pop punk that feels like a direct ticket back to the mid-2000s SoCal scene. Packed with infectious hooks, bouncing rhythms, and a cheeky, laddish charm, it’s the kind of track that immediately transports you to memories of sun-soaked days, reckless nights, and friendships built on nothing but good times and questionable decisions.

From the get-go, the song bursts with fizzy, feel-good energy. The melodies are effortlessly catchy, the gang vocals add an anthemic punch, and the chorus is an undeniable earworm—built for arms-in-the-air, fist-pumping singalongs. Lyrically, it leans into a classic pop punk tale of throwing yourself into something doomed from the start, only to get completely pied off. There’s a self-aware humour to it, making it all the more relatable.

The track takes a brief tempo lull midway through, bringing in a spoken-word monologue that only adds to its charm before launching into a final, full-throttle chorus. The Blink-182 homage is a nice touch, a knowing nod to the genre’s icons without feeling like imitation. Say Less might not be your run-of-the-mill pop punk band, but all the best parts of the genre are in full force here.

Simply put, 'Not Feeling This' is everything you could want from a modern pop punk banger—hooky, nostalgic, and ridiculously fun. It’s the perfect comeback, and if this is a sign of what’s to come, Say Less are only getting started.
