SINGLE REVIEW: Rosetta West - Save Me

Rosetta West delivers a thick, sludgy dose of electric country blues with ‘Save Me’, a track that drips with raw, gritty authenticity. It’s the sound of a desperate road journey set to music, carried by hypnotic slide guitar, mind-bending psychedelic waves, and a beat that keeps the wheels turning. The blues-rock tones are thick and fuzzed-out, giving the whole track a swampy, almost mystical quality, while the raspy vocals add weight to the narrative, drawing you deeper into the haze.

There’s a dreamlike undertone lurking beneath the grit—moments where the track shifts into something more hypnotic, almost detached from reality, before snapping back into its relentless groove. The production is spot on, maintaining that perfectly under-produced DIY aesthetic while still allowing every element to resonate. The drums hit with a resonant thump, grounding the track’s ethereal qualities with a steady, bright pulse.

‘Save Me’ is a journey in itself, fitting with its lyrical themes. Rosetta West leans into the storytelling tradition of blues while giving it a raw, almost surreal edge, making this an intoxicating listen from start to finish.

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.
