SINGLE REVIEW: Mermaid Avenue - Fear of a Bleeding Heart

Aching and yearning Australia's Mermaid Avenue delivers a gut-wrenching account of a breaking heart on their beautiful new single 'Fear of a Bleeding Heart'.

Barron and raw 'Fear of a Bleeding Heart' is a blissful country track with a sense of a journey down a long, tumultuous road. Agonising guitars bleed and melt while glistening keys dance above. A stunning, deep thoughtful guitar solo adds an extra depth of impact while the vocals magnificently balance rawness with rhythm.

Challenging the idea of heartbreak and regrets, what seemed perfect at the time in hindsight should have been left alone. The words contrast the song's laidback tones with notions of turbulence and confusion.

Mermaid Avenue are talented musicians; 'Fear of a Bleeding Heart' is a shining example of chilled-out country rock.

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours šŸ¤ŖšŸ˜œ) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
