SINGLE REVIEW: Mercer - Kerosene

Welsh Rockers Mercer turn up the attitude on new single 'Kerosene'.

Fuzzed up guitars, effective distortion, chaotic drums and brazen vocals. Taking influence from groove and funk 'Kerosene' is an in your face burst of drama, erupting with killer riffs and raucous energy. Heavy, contemporary and exciting Mercer puts the throttle to the floor and turns up the heat as they fire through modern anthem 'Kerosene'.

Living fast, creating fireworks; the explosive noise matches the lyrics notion of repelling fire with fire. Being the kerosene within a wild relationship, erupting at every opportunity. Knowing you're likely to get burnt but enjoying watching the flame get bigger. Wanting something badly enough to momentarily not care about the consequences.

'Kerosene' is a high energy, big attitude track that can't contain its urgency and confidence. Infectious and addictive the vocals are raw but polished and the overall sound exhilarating and professional. They combine classic rock with elements of groove and funk adding a hint of fuzzed up grunge. Its retro yet innovative, current, fresh and interesting!

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
