SINGLE REVIEW: Bury Mia - We've Been Trying to Reach You About Your Car's Extended Warranty
And the award for best song ever title goes to…Denver Colorado's Bury Mia for new single ‘We've Been Trying to Reach You About Your Car's Extended Warranty’!!
Coming in on a somewhat plodding, whining riff it leads you to think something altogether different is ahead. The track then brings in layered, almost buried vocals before erupting into a raw, melodic slice of perfect Pop Punk.
There's stunning vocals with an enchanting gravelly tone that blast into chanting group vox. 'Car Warranty' has big-time Pop Punk energy with just a hint of the chaos of punk. There's a killer, insanely catchy chorus. Loud guitars and raucous, thundering drums. It features a fuzzy guitar solo and moments of vocal distortion. It's a classic sound with a nice sprinkling of originality.
The lyrics take a dive into the point of the day where things lull and you start seeing the world more clearly. Battling mental health demons, looking for the light but seeing endless darkness all the while not giving up hope and knowledge that things will get brighter. The feeling of "running in circles" looking for a way out of your anxieties, the need for "something else to calm my nerves", something that ultimately will likely only intensify how you’re feeling. It's an emotional lyric that's delivered with sincerity and underlying positivity.
Bury Mia are fresh, new and exciting. Taking a tried and tested pop punk formula and making it their own. I will definitely be checking out more of their work!
