Listen to new single, "Sweat It"
Is your questionable behavior making you sweat? Turbo Diesel is here to remind you that’s not the royal way.
Introducing Turbo Diesel, the new project from Lewis Sharman, formerly of Sheffield fuzz rockers Best Friends (FatCat Records, Art is Hard). Backed by a heavy rhythm section of Ben Chapman (Knorke) and Rory Loveless (Drenge), Turbo Diesel channel an uneasy and distorted pop sensibility, while navigating the story of an interview that outed a royal as crass as they are creepy.
Turbo Diesel's self-titled debut EP will be out 7th March on Sheffield DIY music connoisseurs, Delicious Clam Records, in digital format, along with a limited run of 40 cassettes. (Preorder here)
Lead single "Sweat It" channels Devo at their whip cracking best, with Sharman's deadpan reassurance of "Don't you sweat it/I know you won't" delivered over taut guitar lines and swampy bass.
Lewis Sharman says of "Sweat It": “The person this song is about has never needed to sweat it about anything, metaphorically speaking. It was baffling to watch him deny disgusting behavior and evidence the impossibility due to his inability to sweat. He transcended this normal bodily function that helps us humans to regulate our body temperature. You couldn’t write it.”
