Scottish Singer Songwriter David James Drops Rousing Debut Single 'You Said You Loved Me'
Having emerged from Glasgow’s ever-burgeoning music scene a little under a year ago, indie pop troubadour David James has been turning the heads of fans and industry type alike ever since his inception.
Combining vibrant, danceable guitar riffs with an inherent understanding of the human condition, David James’ music tells stories of love, heartbreak and the honesty of real life experiences, all backed up by powerful and passionate vocals that are well suited for the larger stages he’s inevitably progressing towards.
‘You Said You Loved Me’ is David James’ debut single and whilst the Scottish singer/songwriter may have been sitting on the track for almost a year, unsure of if it will ever see the light of day, December 6th sees its deserving release into the wider world.
Written with Fathersons’ Ross Leighton, Bruce Rintoul as well as band mate Kieran, the track is both a testament to David James’ songcraft, and also a celebration of Scottish musicianship, whilst being the perfect example of exactly why David James is a artist well worth sitting up and paying attention to.
Indeed, if your attention has been well and truly piqued, David James makes his live debut supporting Ben Walker at Saint Luke’s, Glasgow on the 14th February. Tickets are available here.
