Out Now: EGG DROP SOUP trusts intuition and follows their muse on "One Hit Woman" single

"I don't like to play favorties... but this might be my favorite song from this project. It feels like a climax of sorts and I am very excited to put it out in the world." - vocalist Samantha Westervelt

Los Angeles rock trio EGG DROP SOUP will release the title track (on 4/12 as a single) from their forthcoming album One Hit Woman.

When asked about the track specifically, lead vocalist Samantha Westervelt shares, "The writing process was very interesting. I wrote the lyrics very quickly and I remember two very specific things crossing my mind as I was playing the bass riff and singing out a melody - in brief, somehow making a flight at Laguardia airport after waking up in Brooklyn about an hour before takeoff, and Iggy Pop.

Neither of those things are connected and on the surface have little to do with the lyrics that came out, but I think about that moment of writing a lot and appreciate it as being quite cosmic. Sometimes we just channel things, seemingly from nothing, and this was a moment of following the muse down the rabbit hole and trusting my intuition. I don't like to play favorites, but this might be my favorite song from this project (Egg Drop Soup). It feels like a climax of sorts and I am very excited to put it out in the world."

Egg Drop Soup:

Bailey Chapman (drums)

Samantha Westervelt (lead vox, bass)

Olivia Saperstein (vox, guitar)
