OUT NOW: Dosser unveils new single and video for "Learned To Breathe"

Listen Here

RIYL: Failure, Day Aches, Heavenward, Superbloom, Heatmiser, Boilermaker

ABOUT THE TRACK

"'Learned To Breathe' is a song that was half written a decade ago and half written present day. Some of it was taken from an old defunct solo project I did called Bested, and is half about someone consuming all of your thoughts because of how miserable they make you. The other half is about feeling like a alien in your own skin. Nothing better than an upbeat power pop song with some miserable lyrics on top!" - Bret

ABOUT DOSSER

Dosser have been honing their style of immersive, driving rock music since 2018, and in 2023 released their first LP, Violent Picture/Violent Sound. After meeting in the Baltimore DIY scene, guitarists Will Teague and Bret Lanahan met with drummer Max Detrich and bassist Eric Dudley to create a tonally rich rock band pulling from shared influences such as Heatmiser, Failure, HUM, and Sebadoh.

On Dosser’s approach, Teague says, “The intent of the band is to continue to build a sense of community through DIY ethics and honest songwriting. We'd like the music industry to shift to a more community and uplifting mindset as opposed to the current 'creating content for the sake of creating content' mindset.”

With the release of 2020’s Brainscan EP, Dosser introduced themselves to Baltimore as new channelers of powerful, creative alt-rock born of the likes of Nirvana, exemplified by Lanahan and Teague's oscillations of soft-spoken earworms and catchy sing-a-long choruses. 2021 saw the Brainscan EP re-released through Portland label Really Rad Records, who would also go on to release Violent Picture/Violent Sound two years later. Dosser supported screamo greats Pianos Become the Teeth on their album release tour in 2022. Currently, Dosser is touring the east coast (see them in Gainesville at Fest Oct 26) and scheduled to record a new album with Jon Markson (Drug Church, Drain, Koyo) in 2025.
