Newcomer Leaves In Flames unfold their musicality on their new EP. "Individuum" will be released on August 4

Mönchengladbach. Leaves In Flames are a newcomer band that has already been going through very stringent times since their debut album "Rolling The Dice", which just came out in the summer of 2021. At the same time, the students formed as a school band in 2018.

A not too obtrusive mix of hard rock and alternative of a young, mixed troupe, which we can already see in 2023 at various festivals in their homeland Germany.

After three advance singles, "Individuum", a new EP will be released on CD and all digital platforms on August 4.

"The idea for the EP formed for us shortly after the first album in the summer of 2021 and was again an attempt by us to get as many facets out of our music as possible. After we had already established in the debut album that we have several styles on it, we wanted to refine them further. When you listen to "Individuum" you can hear pretty much everything, from classic Leaves In Flames hard rock in "Silence of the Night" to poppy tunes in "Secret Little Fantasy" or more alternative sound in "Rather Be A Dreamer". The most important thing for us was to catch the listener while listening to the EP, not only musically but also lyrically. Thus, the themes of the lyrics range from criticism of the current "faster, higher, better" culture to the struggle with depression, to the simple joy of a summer day with friends. Although the songs had been written for a long time, we were looking for a suitable name for the EP, until one day I (Leander) met an old buddy. We chatted half the evening away and he gave me the idea that the word "individual" doesn't have to refer strictly to one person, but also to several, as even a group can theoretically be inseparable. With the background that the EP was created in the time of Corona and showed us how strong we can stick together as a band, even if the chances are sometimes bad, we finally decided on the name "Individuum".

Mönchengladbach. Leaves In Flames sind eine Newcomerband, die seit ihrem Debutalbum "Rolling The Dice", das gerade mal im Sommer 2021 herausgekommen ist, bereits sehr stringent durchstartet. Dabei haben sich die Studentinnen und Studenten 2018 als Schülerband gegründet.

Ein nicht zu aufdringlicher Mix aus Hard Rock und Alternative einer jungen, durchmischten Truppe, die wir 2023 schon auf Festivals wie dem "Da ist was im Busch" (29.7.) in Viersen oder als Support für Van Holzen sehen können.

Nach drei Vorab-Singles erscheint am 4. August "Individuum", eine neue EP auf CD und allen digitalen Plattformen.

"Die Idee für die EP formte sich für uns kurz nach dem ersten Album im Sommer 2021 und war von uns wieder ein Versuch, so viele Facetten aus unserer Musik rauszuholen wie möglich. Nachdem wir im Debutalbum schon angeteasert hatten, dass wir mehrere Styles draufhaben, wollten wir diese weiter verfeinern. Wenn man „Individuum“ hört ist so ziemlich alles dabei, von klassischem Leaves in Flames HardRock in „Silence of the Night“ bis hin zu poppigen Tunes in „Secret Little Fantasy“ oder alternativeren Sound in „Rather Be A Dreamer“. Wichtig war uns vor allem, den Hörer beim Hören der EP zu catchen, nicht nur musikalisch sondern auch lyrisch. So reichen die Themen der Lyrics von Kritik an der aktuellen „Schneller, höher, besser“-Kultur über den Kampf mit Depressionen bis hin zur einfachen Freude an einem Sommertag mit Freunden. Obwohl die Songs schon lange standen, suchten wir sehr lange nach einem passenden Namen für die EP, bis ich (Leander) eines Tages einen alten Kumpel traf. Wir quatschten den halben Abend durch und er brachte mich auf den Gedanken, dass das Wort „Individuum“ sich nicht streng genommen auf eine Person beziehen muss, sondern auch auf mehrere, da auch eine Gruppe theoretisch untrennbar sein kann. Mit dem Hintergrund dass die EP in der Zeit von Corona enstanden ist und uns gezeigt hat, wie stark wir als Band zusammenhalten können, auch wenn die Chancen manchmal schlecht stehen, entschieden wir uns schließlich für den Namen „Individuum“.
