Lyra Set to Release New Single ‘Time’
The Song
Time is an anthem for people who treasure life and understand that their moment on this planet is limited. The idea for the song came about after a string of dead-end meetings the band had with people in the industry who turned out to be a waste of their time.
Musically, the song offers a high-energy mix of Motown, indie, and pop. The band made use of analogue synthesisers, an old organ connected to a Leslie speaker, and a Bass VI to try and introduce some old-school elements into a modern song.
The single was recorded with producer Faz from Damage Audio, who played a big role in creating the sonic landscape.
The band are set to support Ben Walker at The Grace on the 20th of February, where they will be promoting Time, the day before its release.
Lyra have been making themselves known around the London circuit, performing at iconic venues including The Bedford, Spice of Life, Paper Dress Vintage, 229, and Camden Assembly. In 2024, they headlined Phoenix Festival on the Phoenix Stage.
