LOWSWIMMER releases new single ‘IRL’
Bristol based multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter, Lowswimmer, has today returned by kickstarting 2024 with the release of his brand-new single, IRL - the first piece of new music since the ‘Interpretations’ cover album (released in November 2024).
On previous albums, through his work as a part of Lissom, Hailaker, Tolari, and as chief writer for Novo Amor, Ed’s vision has been beautifully blurred, a weaving of ideas that has led to the release of his new single ‘IRL’.
A dazzling outing, colliding carefully crafted orchestration, engaged percussion and an abundance of gliding melodics, IRL shines with Lowswimmer’s trademark authentic sound while also lyrically exploring the multi-faceted complexities surrounding being happy.
“IRL is about focusing on what actually makes you happy”, explains Lowswimmer mastermind Ed Tullet. “The balance between what you feel like you should be doing, vs what you actually love. Not changing yourself to fit what others expect/do themselves, finding self-acceptance and enjoying life more because of it. Or, trying at least…”
Lowswimmer exists as a vessel for Ed Tullett’s self-contained musical expression, drawing from the same emotional depth and sonic intricacy that underpins his multiple collaborations (Novo Amor, American Football, S. Carey) and other artist projects (Hailaker, Lissom, Tolari). The solo project stands as a testament to Ed’s ability to craft rich, immersive soundscapes, delicately balancing organic instrumentation with electronic elements, and weaving addictive melodies into expansive, textured compositions.
