London Soft Rock darlings Your French Girlfriend swoon with passionate new single 'Can't Stop Loving You'
Spearheaded by songwriters Ethan Faith and Philippa Knox, and performing live as a 6-piece, London’s Your French Girlfriend soundtrack the intimacies and euphoria of an enduring love with a ballad steeped in sweeping emotion.
'Can't Stop Loving You' finds beauty in the normalcy of love. Through the instrumentation on this track, Your French Girlfriend make clear how timeless the feeling is. Drawing a line from the Righteous Brothers through to Alice Phoebe Lou, saxophone swoons over lush piano and organ, creating a backing so warm you could roll around in it, and the perfect bed from which Knox’s vocal can soar.
Joseph Futák’s (Tapir, lilo, Enjoyable Listens) rich production ensures the latest effort from the group is as cinematic as it is unflinchingly direct.
“This is a simple song whereby we immersed ourselves in the intimacies of everyday love. Originally performed with only guitar and two-part vocals, the song developed into the full-bodied, gushing ballad it is now with the addition of the band. The song speaks to the all-encompassing nature ("search for you in every room"), the defiance (“how can they say that this longing is wrong?”), and the fulfilment ("heart on the ground, ready to die") of absolute adoration.”
Your French Girlfriend can't stop loving you. They sound like they don't want to, either.

Your French Girlfriend was born in a smoking area in East London. The duo quickly crafted a body of work that delves deeply into insecurities, overwhelming desire, and self-doubt. Now, backed by a four-piece band, they serve up a sound that dances between sweet 70s soft-rock and biting alternative.
Following a run of gigs including dates at the Lexington (with Preen, Ewe & Friends), and the Old Church in Stoke Newington, the group self-released their debut single ‘Mary’ in September 2024 and celebrated with a sell-out audience at Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes. Their second single, ‘Secrets’, followed in November and received international coverage.
The group rounded off 2024 supporting World News at the Shacklewell Arms. They look forward to a big 2025 with the release of their third single ‘Can’t Stop Loving You’ on February 11th and Valentine’s release show at Bermondsey Social Club on February 13th.
