Hailing from the shores of Jupiter, Florida, 20-year-old singer-songwriter Lilly Bedard returns with her latest single, “Not Everything Ends,” a heartfelt exploration of love, resilience, and hope. With a unique blend of alternative pop, folk pop, and singer-songwriter influences, Lilly continues to captivate audiences with her evocative melodies and raw, poetic lyricism.
As a full-time college student and student-athlete at Babson College in Boston, MA, Lilly balances the demands of academia and athletics with her passion for music. Growing up inspired by legendary artists like Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow, she began writing songs at just 14 years old, using music as a vessel to navigate life’s transitions and emotional landscapes. Her latest offering, “Not Everything Ends,” marks a significant evolution in her artistry, embracing a more introspective and hopeful tone.
“‘Not Everything Ends’ is a heartfelt departure from my usual style, blending folk influences with my signature raw and honest lyricism,” Lilly shares. “This song captures my journey from heartbreak to healing, telling the story of finding love that feels like destiny. It’s deeply personal, moving from moments of doubt to the joy of being seen and understood. Exploring themes of hope and permanence, it’s a reminder that, maybe, just this once, not everything ends.”
Lilly recounts the emotional and creative process behind the song, revealing that it almost didn’t come to fruition. “This past summer, I stayed up until 1 a.m.—which, for me, is ridiculously late—trying to write a song that truly captured what I was feeling. Every progression I played clashed with the words, like they were fighting each other instead of working together. I got so frustrated I nearly scrapped the whole thing. But right when I was about to give up, I found the chord progression—the one that just clicked. I wrote the line, ‘You know it’s the right chord progression when hearing it play makes you cry,’ because that’s exactly what happened. From that moment on, the rest of the song spilled out effortlessly. I finished it in twenty minutes, which never happens, especially not with a love song.”
Reflecting on her growth as a songwriter, Lilly acknowledges the shift in her music with this release. “I think I’ve doubted myself when it comes to writing about happiness, and I know people have doubted me too. But ‘Not Everything Ends’ felt like proof that I can write about love in a way that still feels real to me, and in a way that people will love too. I hope this song is the start of something new—a different side of my songwriting that explores not just the pain of losing something, but the beauty of finding something that lasts.”
Speaking on the release, she adds, “‘Not Everything Ends’ is my first true love song. I wanted to write a song that could adequately express my gratitude to the universe for bringing me a person I felt safe with even in the most trying of times. I tried to write this song to be like a sigh of relief, a release of pent-up tension, for anyone who has experienced love after loss.”
Lilly Bedard continues to establish herself as a rising voice in the music industry, blending deeply personal storytelling with sonically rich compositions. “Not Everything Ends” is now available on all streaming platforms.
