Likane Leppäne Unveils Dark and Experimental New Album 'Saatanista Saundia'

Finnish underground noise-rap artist Likane Leppäne has released his latest album, Saatanista Saundia. Emerging from Oulu, Finland, Likane is known for his unrelenting fusion of noise, horrorcore, and experimental rap. With this new release, he pushes his signature sound to its darkest and most ambitious depths yet, creating a record described as "wandering alone on a dying planet fearing everything and everyone."

Thematically, Saatanista Saundia explores mental illness, existential grief, and horror-inspired imagery. Tracks like ‘Vihaan Maailmaa’ (“I Hate This World”) and ‘näen unia kuolleista’ (“I Dream of Dead”) delve into disillusionment and self-reflection, with lyrics that navigate depression, anger, and the alienation of modern life. Likane draws heavily from old-school horror films and black metal aesthetics, integrating samples from Lucio Fulci’s films, Hellraiser, and even chaotic noise from Japanese group Hijokaidan. The result is a soundscape that blends Finnish underground rap with cosmic dread and raw experimental textures.

Among the album’s standout tracks, ‘Vihaan Maailmaa’ is an explosive collaboration with Laua Rip, merging Hijokaidan’s piercing noise samples with distorted, cassette-like vocals. Likane describes it as “a song about anger and disillusionment—how people destroy themselves and each other.” Meanwhile, ‘näen unia kuolleista’ is a haunting collaboration featuring Nuori Jaeroo, Mora, Lil Sell, and Deadwölle. The track juxtaposes childhood innocence with somber imagery, offering a surreal narrative about burying one’s younger self.

The album closes with ‘Vain Saatana on Todellista’ (“Only Satan is Real”), a nihilistic anthem built on black metal-inspired noise and samples from Bathory. Its dark themes and abrasive textures leave a lasting impression, cementing Saatanista Saundia as one of Likane’s most audacious works.

Likane’s influences are as eclectic as his sound. Drawing from lo-fi Memphis rap icons like Three 6 Mafia and Kingpin Skinny Pimp, Finnish underground rap pioneers like Evil Stöö and DJ Kridlokk, and the harsh chaos of noise acts like Hijokaidan, Likane crafts a style that feels both nostalgic and boundary-breaking. His music also nods to the Finnish hardcore-punk scene, citing bands such as Riviera, Häpeä, and Turhuus as key inspirations.

With a discography that includes LIKANE HORROR '17 (2017), NOISE DESTRVKTION TAPE (2018), and Superlikane (2023), Likane has built a reputation for unfiltered, genre-defying releases. Saatanista Saundia continues that legacy, offering an intense and immersive listening experience that’s as thought-provoking as it is unsettling.

The album is available now on streaming platforms, with physical editions and more details available through Likane Leppäne’s official channels.
