June 5, 2024 (New York, NY)—Mom+Pop recording artist Frances Forever, creator of the viral TikTok hit “Space Girl,” today released their new single, “Mr. Man,” featuring Miya Folick. It is the latest single from their upcoming debut LP Lockjaw, out June 28 via Mom+Pop Music.

“Mr. Man” is Frances Forever’s response to unwanted male attention, especially as it relates to queer relationships. Frances and Miya Folick use catchy vocal melodies backed by a bouncy baseline to instruct the men to “Back off.”

Frances says, “‘Mr. Man’ tells a tale that every sapphic couple has, the advances of unwanted male attention while in a queer relationship. I wanted to create a sort of diss track and capture the utterly powerful feeling of not wanting or needing male validation. Miya Folick killed it on the line ‘Why can't you face it? It's just basic normal gay shit!’ because that's exactly what it is! Respectfully, leave us alone to our gay shit!”

Miya says, “I'm obsessed with Frances's energy and honesty. This song would be a bop with or without me, but I'm so glad they asked me to be a part of it.”

“Mr. Man” follows the two previous singles from Frances Forever’s upcoming LP, Lockjaw, including “Baby Bangs” feat. dacelynn and “Troll.”

All of these songs, released as singles from Frances Forever’s debut record, highlight their dynamic songwriting ability. They take inspiration from a multitude of genres and tackle topics like love, anxiety, and more.

For Frances, music serves as the most authentic form of self-expression. Through their projects and performances, they strive to cultivate a community of like-minded individuals who navigate similar struggles and identities. Whether touring with Tessa Violet and Chloe Moriondo or headlining their own shows, Frances seeks to foster connections and provide a safe space for self-discovery and acceptance.

"It’s a lonely process to find yourself, your identity, and your sexuality," Frances reflects. "I hope people can find my community and make friends through that, go to shows together, and feel safe. My main goal as an artist is to create a safe space for people to feel welcome and be themselves."

Frances Forever can spin anything into sunshine. As the project of songwriter Frances Garrett, its myriad moods can send listeners reeling into romance or off floating in existential space. Frances balances their familiarity with extremes with an undeniable ear for melody and a gift for writing tracks that could live at home anywhere on the pop timeline. With each melody and lyric, Frances Forever invites listeners into a world where vulnerability is celebrated and authenticity reigns supreme.

Frances Forever is preparing to embark on their North American headline tour. The Lockjaw Tour kicks off in Toronto at Velvet Underground on July 8th. Get your tickets here. Full tour dates are listed below.
