Joe Kelly & The Royal Pharmacy release new single ‘Cast Me Down’
Cast Me Down is the new single and title track of the forthcoming second album from Joe Kelly & The Royal Pharmacy, set for release in spring 2025 via Dirty Carrot Records. Following on from the spooky 60s psych-pop of Little Fears and the roots-rock call to arms of 200 Years, Cast Me Down sees Joe Kelly channeling his Catholic upbringing to explore a biblical narrative of doomed love, self-doubt and destructive obsession.
Reminiscent of the Arctic Monkeys' late-night experiments at Rancho de la Luna and the cinematic pop of latter-day Black Keys, Cast Me Down's moody grandeur is a hint of the eclecticism to come on album two, perfectly complemented by the band's third collaboration with the independent filmmakers at Newport's Goldtops Studios. Trading the supernatural 1970s stylings of the Little Fears promo for the rural folk-horror of Midsommar, there's never been a better time to don your ceremonial robes and drink the Kool-Aid…
Cast Me Down was written by Joe Kelly and produced by Jon Greening at Gwyrdd and One Louder studios. The Cast Me Down video is available to view now via all major social media platforms. The song will be streaming everywhere from November 22nd alongside AA side, 200 Years.
