Irish alt. rock/metal act WhiteRoomNightmare announces the release of new single ‘I’m Sorry It’s You’

In contrast to the previous 2 singles released from WhiteRoomNightmare’s upcoming second album, I’m Sorry It’s You slows the tempo down and deals with the topic of feeling overwhelmed by bad news stories.

‘Since we are more connected now than ever before, tragedies seem to be more frequent, causes more compelling and our heartstrings are being tugged in many different directions at once. There’s only so much empathy a person can show before they become consumed with sadness at the seemingly endless global human suffering. Those of us fortunate enough to be so far, physically, from it all, have an off-switch but what relief there may be in this can be shortlived because some of the stories can stay embedded in the mind, leading to feelings of guilt that we are able to switch off from the horrors but the people directly involved cannot.’

It will be available to stream and download everywhere from Friday 26th May 2023.

About the artist...

WhiteRoomNightmare is a one-man project created by Paul Anketell, a self-taught musician from Northern Ireland. He began making music in his late teens when, as a drummer, he formed a makeshift band with friends doing covers of Green Day, Nirvana, and other 90s bands. After that fizzled out, he taught himself to play guitar and took courses in recording and producing music with the aim of releasing his own material.

In March 2021 WhiteRoomNightmare released debut album The Way Of All Things? which blog Divide & Conquer described as ‘a cohesive album with a serious quality to the music’.

Follow-up grunge/punk single Belfast, released in August 2021, received airplay on numerous global radio stations including German station MehrdavonRadio where it was voted #28 in the Top 50 newcomers of the year.

June 2022 saw the release of 5-track EP First Impressions Last. The Sounds Won't Stop blog praised its 'addictive riffs, killer edge and melodic choruses'. It was preceded by 2 singles with second single Minor Loss Of Fidelity, in particular, gaining positive press attention.

Christmas ’22 release, the double A-sided Are You Happy Now? / Are You Happy Now (It’s Winter)? was ‘perfect for a pogo around the Christmas tree’ according to Edwin McFee of The Sunday Life.

March 2023 single What You’re Made Of was hailed by ClickRollBoom as an ‘uptempo banger’ while the Metal Asylum noted its hard –hitting ‘riffs flying left, right and centre’
