Introducing....WAXX!

Today Beatles and Black Keys inspired Norwich based psychedelic rock outfit WAXX! talk about their new single Rearrange that dropped recently and tell us about all the exciting things festival season has in store for them.

Click Roll Boom: What 5 words describe WAXX!?

WAXX!: Fuzzy, hairy, loud, melodic, psychedelic

CRB: How did you all meet?

W!: WAXX! basically formed when producer Gavin Bowers had a jam with Nathan and decided that there was definitely something worth exploring further, Henry then jump on lead guitar bringing a completely different flavour to the mix and with the addition of Wookie and Paul providing a killer back beat and Ryan's sonic soundscape on the synths suddenly there was a band!

CRB: Who are your biggest influences?

W!: Lots of stuff but noticeably bands like the Beatles, The Doors, Tame Impala, Black Keys, hawk wind, jack white to name a few.

CRB What has been the highlight of your career this far?

W!: Tricky one as we’re loving everything we’re up to at the moment but probably the Catch 21 Records Xmas Bash at the Shoe Factory it was a great night and the crowd were electric and just so up for it!

CRB: What does the future hold for the band?

W!: The summer is looking pretty busy in the WAXX! camp

We’re looking forward to festival season. We've booked in quite a few including The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, Harlequin Fayre, Thing in a Field to name a few and we are finishing off our debut album in between plus shooting a live session next month at Brixton Hill studios in london. So busy boys.

CRB: What are you working on at the moment?

W!: At the moment we’re finishing off tracks for our album in the studio which we hope to release towards the end of the year and are deep into rehearsals for festival season.

WRB: Shameless plug for your latest album/single….

W!: We have our new video/single out on the 28/3/22 called Rearrange out on Catch 21 Records and the artwork for the single and in the music video was done by the brilliant Hannah from Bath of Milk, another great emerging local band.

Thanks for having us hopefully see you all in a field somewhere this summer

Great to talk to you. Have fun at all your festivals this summer! All the best for the future. Keep rocking!

Amy

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (I’m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
