Watch “Trouble” Official Music Video by Nicole Cecile-Holland
Watch Mistakes Official Music Video by James Turpin
HALIFAX, NS – Indie-Rock Songwriter, Bethany, has carved out a niche for herself by blending introspective lyrics with inventive instrumentation, creating music that is stirring and dynamic. After years of leading various musical projects in Halifax, from wielding a Jaguar in art-rock projects, to performing her songs with an orchestra, Bethany is finally launching her debut full-length under her given name.
“Handwritten Notes”, a sprawling, heartfelt eight-song album, was recorded by Bethany Fulde at various locations, and by longtime collaborator Charles Austin at Ocean Floor Recordings. The album was mixed by Loel Campbell (Wintersleep, Matt Mays) at 5candles, and mastered by Noah Mintz (Dan Mangan) at Lacquer Mastering. It features Bethany’s bandmates Andrew MacKelvie & Andrew Jackson (horns), Casey Thompson (bass) and Shane Martin (drums) as well as special guest appearances by Jon Samuel & Tim d’Eon.
Within the last month BETHANY has released two music videos. The first is a summertime, carefree, nature-inspired “Mistakes” directed by James Turpin. The second music video, for the piano-alt-rock-protest-song “Trouble”, was directed by Nicole Cecile-Holland and takes the viewers on a journey from feeling trapped in a kitchen to freedom in bonfires by the ocean.
Both songs offer a glimpse into the BETHANY world of jivey, jangly rock, entwined with emotive, soaring melodies.
