Esmae Releases New Single 'undone'
[18th October 2023] Today, R&B-inspired pop newcomer Esmae has released her latest single, ‘Undone’ via EZO Music, available to stream now.
Musically inspired by pop powerhouses such as Anne-Marie and Dua Lipa, the undeniably catchy single adds to a stunning catalogue of releases since the start of her musical career in 2021, clocking up streams of 1.4 million on Spotify alone.
The idea for the single came to Esmae in a co-writing session with hit songwriter Helen Boulding and Jonas Persson, while relating to being in a relationship that never truly feels like it’s over, because no-one or nothing will ever undo the love you have for that person.
On the single, Esmae said: “’Undone’ was more a feeling we all got in the room as soon as we wrote the first line 'No I don’t want you to go, but I don’t want you to stay.’ We all just looked at each other and said, “Oh gosh, how true is that?” Even though we only just met, we were instantly on the same page.
I’ll never forget the energy in the room that day! For me the song really sums up the push and the pull of a relationship and how two people are SO intertwined, no matter how fast you unravel, you will never truly be undone.”
The music video for ‘Undone’, created by Oscar Ryan who has worked with the likes of Sigala, KSI and Diplo, is a beautiful encapsulation of the single. With stunning choreography paired with understated visuals to complement the sonics perfectly, the video captures the ache of the push and pull in the beautiful lyric and pop melody.

Esmae began her musical journey at the age of 16 and draws upon her passion for old-school R&B and new-pop music to create a truly unique and timeless sound, marrying the genres to create achey, melodic, brilliant pop inspired by a host of diverse life experiences and musical influences.
Esmae has been championed by BBC Introducing & BBC Radio Tees since 2019, invited to perform on their BBC Introducing stage. Esmae is hugely passionate about helping the homeless and released a single for Teesside national homeless charity CEO Sleepout, reaching 300,000 streams and sleeping rough herself a few nights a year to raise money.
Each song is heart stamped and crafted by Esmae to take the listener on a journey they can relate to and is refreshingly easy to dive straight into. From her debut single in early 2021, Esmae has seen incredible support already shown by her substantial streams and huge following.
