A Note From Emme:
“During the whole writing/production process of Lovely, I called it the “people pleaser anthem.” This is a song I wrote about a time when I felt like I was just faking my way through life, constantly shoving down problems and pretending I was okay because I didn’t want people to see me any differently. I wanted everyone to always see me as “lovely” no matter the problems I was wrestling with. There’s no resolution within the lyrics because it’s an ongoing battle I still fight today, as I’m sure many of us do. My hope is that when listeners hear this song they hear the internal struggle, the push and pull between wanting everyone to love you while trying to love yourself. A struggle I’m sure everyone faces at some point.” - Emme
