Bitter:Sweet are back with Baby Is Back, the first single—and title track—of their upcoming album, set for release on April 18, 2025. The single drops on January 31.

"I’m here, and I’m ready," says Shana Halligan, original singer-songwriter and the remaining member of the former duo. “I wanted to make a big band, swinging banger with Bitter:Sweet’s roots while propelling the new music into this exciting new era. A New Era for Bitter:Sweet

"I wrote the single in the studio with the producer, and it came together effortlessly," explains Halligan. “We began by diving into the music that has influenced me and experimenting with beats, horns, and a variety of sonic textures.”

Their first album in a decade, Baby Is Back is both a musical evolution and a spiritual homecoming for Bitter:Sweet. Written by Halligan in collaboration with emerging songwriter and producer Joey Verskotzi, the record weaves electronic music, jazz, and classic Hollywood soundtrack elements into the band’s distinctive sound.

Having collaborated with Serj Tankian of System of a Down, co-writing and singing the Thievery Corporation hit Depth of My Soul, and lending her unmistakable voice to Nouvelle Vague and Grammy-winning collective The String Theory, Halligan has cemented her status as one of electronic music’s most iconic voices.
