Brighton emo two-piece H_ngm_n are set to release their new single ‘Reach Out’ on 20th February 2025 - their first new music since 2020!

Heartfelt, hook-laden, and unapologetically emotional, Brighton-based duo H_ngm_n have carved out a distinctive niche in the UK’s emo scene. A wall of sound delivered by friends and collaborators Chris Childs and James Martin, the pair blend jangly guitars and soaring, math-tinged melodies with driving, powerful drums.

The first new music in 5 years, the band kick off 2025 with their exciting new single 'Reach Out' - a song written about the feeling of drowning, and burying feelings down until they overflow. Recorded with Daly George (Creeper, Boston Manor, Burnt Tapes, Darko) @ The Ranch in Southampton, this nostalgic emo banger leads the charge in a release campaign that has been a long time coming. Accompanying music video filmed & edited by Shark Sauce Films features Chris & James stranded out at sea, dealing with ongoing issues until they finally wash up on dry land.

Reflecting on their new release, guitarist & vocalist Chris Childs said: “We’ve been quietly working on new music over the past 5 years, chipping away in the background, but we’re really excited to finally have something new to share. Reach Out felt like the obvious song to kickstart our campaign as it’s short & snappy, yet brimming with raw energy and emotion. We’ve played it live a few times now and it’s always super fun, and feels like it encapsulates what we’re about in a 3 minute burst. It always feels scary to actually finish something, but we’ve put a lot of time into this song and we definitely feel like it’s worth the wait.”

Offering up a cathartic exploration of overthinking, overdrinking, and grappling with growing older, their gritty style of emo-pop is personal and universal all at once. Merging the blistering rawness of modern emo with the explosive energy of early 2000’s pop-punk, the result is a seamless blend of nostalgia and modernity, unpicking the harsh realities of life’s complications within irresistibly catchy anthems.

With their debut album slated for Summer 2025, H_ngm_n are poised to deliver a dose of bittersweet catharsis to a world that needs it more than ever.
