Irish auteur Annie-Dog shares glittering new effort ‘Please Forgive Me, David Gray’, out today (January 22nd) via Dance To The Radio (Ellur, Far Caspian, Terra Twin).

Marking the third reveal from her forthcoming EP ‘15’ (pre-order here), set for release February 27th, the indie sensation continues her remarkable rise, floating ethereally across genres and occupying a mesmerising world somewhere between the likes of Grimes and Pinkpantheress.

Firmly at the forefront of the emerging indie landscape, Annie-Dog’s hypnotic medium of existential indie-pop musings has already attracted widespread plaudits throughout the press community, with key champions aligning such as The Fader, NME, Dork Magazine, DIY Magazine, The Line Of Best Fit, So Young Magazine, Clash, Wonderland, Crack, Gorilla vs Bear and Notion, not to mention countless spins across the BBC 6 Music (Deb Grant, Tom Ravenscroft, Emily Pilbeam) Radio X (John Kennedy), RTÉ (Dan Hegarty) and SiriusXM airwaves.

With debut live outings ticked off at festivals including Pitchfork Music Festival London, Eurosonic and The Great Escape in 2024, Annie-Dog is primed to step things up a notch on the live front this year, with a Dork Magazine London showcase tonight (January 22nd), and her debut trip stateside for SXSW already lined up the spring.

Detailing the latest EP preview, Annie-Dog stated: “Like every Irish person my age, I was brought up on David Gray’s White Ladder album. My parents rinsed it constantly, and Please Forgive Me was always a favourite. I made ‘Please Forgive Me, David Gray’ on GarageBand, and, really, I just made it for me. I didn’t put too much thought into it. And I definitely didn’t think I’d ever share it. I suppose I wanted to insert myself into the song, because I love it. I wanted to be a part of the song’s world. I hadn’t ever properly covered a song before making “Please Forgive Me, David Gray”, and I haven’t since. It’s not usually my bag. I like writing my own songs. It’s what drives me creatively. But remaking somebody else’s tune turned out to be a lot of fun. I‘ve been playing ‘Please Forgive Me, David Gray’ at my live shows as of late, and I’ve been asked so many times to put it online. So here it is. Annie-Dog meets David Gray.”

Annie-Dog’s ‘Please Forgive Me, David Gray’ is out now via Dance To The Radio and available on all digital platforms.
