Angel Number release debut EP 'I.' and share music video for 'High On You'

With their highly anticipated first EP ‘I.’, Angel Number take the listener on a journey with a nihilistic and fearful view of the future.
Sonically, Angel Number are pushing boundaries and blurring genres, drawing inspiration from a broad range of genres and blending elements of shoegaze, pop and electronica, as well as modern cinema, specifically the psychological thriller niche popularised by A24 which bleeds into their work by way of sound design and unique world building.
Thematically, the EP begins trapped in the feelings of paranoia, isolation – detached from reality and other people. Falling in love is not permitted in this state of mind as it has side effects and cannot be safe. Symbolism for fear and faith designed by urban power cults that worship ego and seek to lead everyone further away from their true self are used throughout the EP with every track telling a different story told by the protagonist in a diary-like, investigative format, trying to understand their mindset in order to become their true self. Protection spells are used as a means to keep safe from the outside world as the protagonist has a difficult time forming friendships and sees themselves withdraw from reality until it is revealed to them in a dream that the reality they’ve been living in is a hellish dimension of their mind. This is where the shift starts, and EP I. is left off.

Biography:

Hailing from the North of England, Angel Number are a genre bending five-piece ready to make an indelible mark on the UK music scene. Blending elements of shoegaze, alternative rock, new wave, electronica and pop, they created a distinct sound whilst exploring themes of shadow work and all things metaphysical through their lyrics and imaginary. The backdrop of the early 2020s informed their initial, fearless experimentation and led them to a time of seclusion to craft what was to become their latest musical outpour in form of the latest singles ‘The Fabric Speaks’, ‘A Worthy Host’ and 'Fateful' off of their highly anticipated debut EP I. which is out on 6th December. The influence of modern cinema, specifically the psychological thriller niche popularised by A24, bleeds into their work by way of sound design and unique world building. Listening to their music feels like being stood in front of a monument, taking in its intricacies and tiny details that form a larger-than-life image.
Morphed together from previous projects, their impressing musical journey so far has not only gained them a lot of attention and support within the British Rock scene from the likes of Kerrang!’s Alex Baker, Daniel P Carter's BBC Radio1, Alyx Holcombe, Rock Sound and Alt Press, but also saw them supporting bands such as Holly Fawn, Movements and Love Is Noise, as well as securing themselves a slot at Burn It Down Festival.
This has just been the start for the band. Planning to unleash some of their most refined work to date upon the world soon, and promising an engaging and unique live show, it is no wonder that Angel Number are one of the most exciting rising bands in the UK to look out for right now.
