A song about seeking solace from the overwhelming noise of modern life.
Andy Stochansky is back with a brand-new single and video, "Beautiful Sky", offering a glimpse into his forthcoming album, Poetry of Birds.
"Sometimes I get overwhelmed by social media and I just need to look at something to ground myself. When writing this song. I remember just going outside and looking at the sky and not needing anything else."

Andy crafts music that is both intimate and immersive. His latest project, Poetry of Birds, reflects on the beauty of simplicity, translating everyday wonder into vivid lyrics and organic instrumentation.
“It’s easy to be overwhelmed by the modern world,” he observes. “I love electronics as much as anybody else does, but I wanted to show some respect to nature. It can teach us everything we need. Poetry Of Birds is a reminder to look at the beauty of the simple things around us.”
With a career spanning decades, Andy’s musical journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. The Toronto-born artist first made waves as a touring and studio musician for indie icon Ani DiFranco before launching his solo career in 1999 with Radio Fusebox. His evolution continued with albums like 5 Star Motel (2001) and 100 (2005), the latter produced by Johnny Rzeznik of Goo Goo Dolls. His songwriting prowess has left a global imprint, with his song Shine—covered by Australian Idol winner Shannon Noll—dominating the Australian Singles Chart at #1 for eight weeks and even serving as the Commonwealth Games theme song.
Andy’s talents have extended far beyond his solo work. Now based in Los Angeles, he has written for artists like Dragonette, Goo Goo Dolls, and Lola Lennox, working alongside music legends such as Annie Lennox. His co-writing credits include Hyper Love for Ferry Corsten, which landed a Top 10 spot on the Billboard Dance Singles Chart, and Northern Lights by Cider Sky, featured on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 soundtrack. His experimental project White Elephant Orchestra debuted in 2020, receiving early support from NPR World Café.
During 2022, he immersed himself into this latest solo project.
“I love collaboration, but I had a real need for my own voice to be out there again,” he explains. “Lyrically, I have a pretty high bar for myself because the people I’ve worked with also had such high bars. I just wanted to be able to knock this project out of the park on my own.”
He nodded to inspirations as diverse as movies and poetry to nature and the various people around him, in addition to wrestling with our society’s dependency on technology.
In the end, Andy might inspire you to treasure the little things around you even more.
“I want people to walk away with a sense of hopefulness,” he leaves off. “I hope this album is strong enough so you can remember the stories. I put a lot of care into them, and I’m happy to finally share them.”
With Poetry of Birds on the horizon, Andy Stochansky invites listeners to pause, reflect, and find joy in life’s simplest moments.
