Aaron Koenig shares Bossa Nova single ‘Music Is Magic’ - a song about the healing power of music
Aaron Koenig makes music about spiritual topics that rocks and grooves - and sometimes it swings and sways like the Girl from Ipanema.
His newest single is a Bossa Nova that claims:
“Music is magic and a remedy, it can heal and set you free.”
“This song tells the story of how it came to be,” explains Aaron. “I first wrote it when I was 25, after a year studying in Brazil, where I had learnt a lot of bossa nova classics. I was sad because of an unfulfilled love, but all my sadness was blown away when I wrote this song.”
When he started his Mindful Music series he thought to include this old song with new lyrics, but it was never recorded and all written notes of it were lost. Aaron couldn’t remember the song’s many jazzy chords - but they were miraculously stored in his hands!
“That was another magical moment,” recalls Aaron. “First the song healed my sadness and then it came back decades later when I switched off my conscious mind. So I wrote new lyrics about these fascinating experiences with music.”
The song was recorded and the music video was shot in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Aaron Koenig writes catchy songs for people who like meaningful, uplifting themes and guitar-driven, handmade sounds. His songs have been streamed more than 400,000 times on Spotify since May 2024. His most popular music track Death! has more than 90,000 Spotify streams, its music video has more than 90,000 views on YouTube.
